Proud of its long history, 2016  2nd Section National & Yorkshire Champions Stannington Brass Band is a village band from Sheffield with ambition and lots of talent. With a well established line-up, many players still live locally and some have made the progression from the Training Band to join the senior ranks.

Welcoming back its Musical Director, Derek Renshaw, in September 2015, the band has returned to top form, winning the Yorkshire Area Second Section Contest in March 2016 as well as the Whiston Festival of Brass in July and Bolsover Festival of Brass in October.

Rewarded for its hard work and dedication, the band has been promoted to the First Section in 2017 and  was one of two bands representing Yorkshire in the Second section at the National Finals on 17 September 2016 where it returned as the National Champions of Great Britain
